About Charlie Pickering
Hi there! I'm Charlie, the founder of Charlie Pickering Design. My journey in the hospitality industry began at 18 and spanned 17 amazing years. I've had the pleasure of working in kitchens in Toronto, pouring pints in New Zealand, and crafting cocktails in London. I absolutely love this industry, so when the pandemic hit, I found myself at a loss.
To fill the time, I dove into learning design software and started making furniture. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something more when friends began placing orders, and soon their friends did too! This led me to invest in a fancy CNC machine, and before I knew it, my little operation had outgrown my shed in Epsom.
Now, I've scaled up to a barn on the fringes of Guildford, focusing on creating bespoke items for the food and drink world. I test each of my designs at farmers markets around the South-west of London and Surrey, and the feedback has been fantastic!
